The 18th Multidisciplinary Conference on Sinkholes and the Engineering and Environmental Impacts of Karst will be held at the Albany Capital Center in Albany, New York, from October 5-9, 2026. Albany is easily accessible by air, train, and car, making it convenient for attendees traveling from across the United States and internationally.

Travel

Albany International Airport (ALB) is located approximately 10 miles from downtown Albany and offers direct flights from major hubs including New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. The airport is well-connected with rental car services and taxi/rideshare options. For those traveling by train, Albany-Rensselaer Station is served by Amtrak and is just a short distance from the conference venue. Additionally, Albany is easily accessible via major highways including I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike/New York State Thruway) and I-87 (Adirondack Northway), making it convenient for those driving to the conference.

Conference Run of House Room Rate: $199 before taxes & fees. The Hotel cannot guarantee specific room types. Run of house rooms are the best available rooms, assigned at check-in. A specific bed type is not guaranteed, and requests for specific room types (i.e. kings or double beds) will be accommodated based on availability at the time individual reservations are confirmed.

The room rate will be made available for the Group two (2) days prior to and two (2) day after the Event Dates, subject to availability. There is a charge for an extra person staying in the guest room of $15.00, per person, per night. Children under 12 years old may stay free in their parents’ room using existing bedding. The Group shall also be responsible for taxes and incidental charges incurred by guests.

Availability: The discounted rates for the Sinkhole Conference are on a first-come, first served basis. The hotel’s cut off date for reservations is Tuesday September 8th, 2026.

Check-In/Check-Out Times: Check in dates begin 10/04/2026 through check out 10/10/2026 (collectively, “Event Dates”). Check in time begins at 4:00 pm. Check out time is 11:00 am.

Cancellation Policy: To avoid cancellation fees, be sure to cancel no later than 72 hours prior to your arrival at the hotel.
