How to present a Karst Clip
Are you interested in attending the Sinkhole Conference, but unable to submit a full paper for publication? We still want to hear about your projects and research, and offer an opportunity, less formal than a full paper and talk.
We are offering a special session called “Karst Clips” that will allow any participant to give a brief presentation about their work. This session, styled in the manner of “lightning talks” common at many conferences, is designed to broaden participation and content, as well as to provoke discussions among participants.
To participate, simply send your name and Clip title to Dr. Ira Sasowsky at [email protected] by August 1, 2026. Your name and title will be included in the conference program. Any submissions after that time, including from the floor during the conference, may be welcome but would be too late for inclusion in the program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register for the conference?
Yes; only those who are registered may participate in this, or any, part of the meeting.
My work is “in progress.” Is it suitable to present it?
Yes, absolutely! One of the strongest benefits of the conference is the opportunity to receive insights from colleagues. Presenting your “in progress” work allows others to give suggestions, and make comments, which may be useful to you
Will my talk be published in the proceedings book?
No. This is not possible given the timing of the publication. However, your name and presentation title will appear in the program if submitted by the deadline of 01 August 2026.
How much time will I have for my Karst Clip presentation?
We currently anticipate 5 minutes, but we will confirm that by September 5, 2026. If you show a PowerPoint with your Karst Clip, we recommend you show no more than one slide per minute of your presentation.
Can I present more than one Karst Clip?
Possibly. This will depend upon the availability of time in the program. The conference organizers will make the final decision. Preference will be given to authors who have not made any presentation.
I have submitted a full paper and will present a full talk or poster associated with that paper. Can I also present a Karst Clip?
Yes, you may. However, it must be on a different topic.
